Was in a conundrum with two left over bottle caps and two sets of labels.
They surfaced when I found my pharmacy bottles from Jacob's, Atlanta. I
don't think wishes are in order here. Just a little luck. I had two US Pepsi
caps that never had a home. My Pepsi bottles from that period were from
Canada. Wrong, wrong, wrong! I had a US 1941 bottle once, but the labels
turned out to be repros so they were wrong again.
I sold all my labels and bottles (so I thought) but re-checked my hidden
and found again leftovers. Only a few US, which is fine. I collect both.
I've had and parted with all the ones below. Wow! They want a fortune
for them now, and may end up just being very good repros! (It happens)
I've actually given away all my repros too. Don't want them.
.
However, now that labels have gotten so pricey I don't dare glue them
to the bottles for my own amusement. I use clear plexiglass cases that
I can position the label against the appropriate bottle without ruining
them. Makes for a classy display.
The bottle I was looking for was to be reasonably priced (my budget)
and in good condition. I think that's good collecting sense. It had to
match at least one of my caps and labels. I poured over hundreds of
bottles and found them very expensive, especially for display with just
one set of cap and labels.
I also refuse to buy a bottle that I've had before. That certainly narrows
down the selection.
Then I saw this bottle...never had a nice early clear pre 1941 before!
Good for this set...war time 1940-1941.
Or for this set...pre 1940.
So when I get bored (as if) I can just switch labels and bottles.
Double the value!
So how about that elusive 6 cent KIK cap oh genie of the bottle!?
