I just bought these two in eastern Virginia near the Bay, where life stands still in the 1600's. lol. No seriously. My research has only bought up torpedoes or ballast by searching by shape. I've got this one clue maybe you can help me with. "British made FBH's" Hopefully someone can fill me in about these two bottles. Both are about 9" tall.

Hey Peggyann64. First of all, welcome to the forum! It looks very British to me with the Ltd. Maybe Canadian? Look of the Schweppes bottles paper label. I put a link to British made bottles(history of British made glass). The one on the left is the older of the two. I put the link and a photo of an embossed Schweppes blobtop bottle. Same type as yours only yours are crowntops. Hope this helped, sure others will comment. Nice acquisition.

Hey thanks! I appreciate all the information I can obtain. These two bottles were dug up by someone in the 50s or 60s in the Norfolk Virginia area. So maybe these bottles were brought here from England? Not as a shipment but maybe the bottles were in the trash thrown out by the crew aboard? Or were these bottles as soda were shipped here to the USA and sold in stores? Very interesting !

How they got there is anyone's guess. I do like your Sailor story. Dr. Pepper is the current owner of the Schweppes trademark here in the states. Before was Cadbury who had the right since 1969. It was manufactured in the states obviously. I do not remember this style of bottle being used though. I do remember Perrier being in the bowling pin bottles.
