Not much...room for one more bottle...my 1954 Pepsi has some work
ahead of it label wise...I've tucked it away for now back in F McG's
cupboard.

I usually make this wish on a Sunday but its a long weekend...

I wish I could find and own...

1) 1927-29 F.P. Hinds & Son ORILLIA embossed bottle
2) 1927-29 F.P. Hinds & Son ORILLIA Pepsi-Cola label
3) 1927-29 F.P. Hinds & Son ORILLIA Pepsi-Cola bottle cap

soooo anyhooo....I think this is what I am looking for Mr. Genie...

I was expecting to find a small bottle, but they was not being used for Pepsi
and other "untested" sodas apparently.

They used big ones for their OFF brands..just missed one last month on HiBid.

Here's a weird thing...I accidentally printed oversized Pepsi labels from 1927
when they were still available on my Google search many years ago..they would do in a pinch...not really sure why I kept them...found them just now in F McG's drawer...

The cap is going to be a challenge for sure...but they did exist...but when did they
start printing their own cap?..the one pictured is unused...Pepsi stopped shipping
syrup when Wall Street crashed...is this why Pepsi disappeared? Hinds started
bottling Pepsi again during WW2. He must have liked the product. Reminds me
of the brothers from Raleigh that did the same thing.

was this the real cap variety? I noticed Vancouver Pepsi bottles being shipped with American caps early on too...franchise start up supplies...perhaps?

seems like I'm not being too unreasonable after all...

Back in Canada in 1927 Coke was king! There were no others but "off" brands
that were sold in 30 oz bottles. I remember my Noxie Cola bottle. They still
show up now and again, and in only the big size.

A little bit of trivia. Guth, who purchased Pepsi-Cola in 1931 had later (1939) bought out another brand up in Canada that failed..."Noxie Cola"...besides the fact that the name was real legal trouble in the US, he tried selling it in 12 oz. sized bottles. He was destined to fail. I am betting this is where he got his idea from; selling Pepsi 12 full ounces for the price of a 6 oz Coke. It was being done in 30 oz bottles in Orillia from 1927-1929! A very common practice at the time because Coke was more expensive in Canada back then (as much as 10 cents a bottle!)

Looks strangely familiar... I guess I have to be educated first (Yikes!)

"After the 1939 court decision forcibly severed Charles Guth's leadership tenure at Pepsi-Cola, the discharged executive carried his talents in resuscitating failing soda brands to a new firm—Noxie-Kola.

Much like Pepsi before Guth's intervention, the Noxie-Kola Company was an underperforming cola manufacturer struggling to stay solvent."

so at end of day #1 common sense prevails...I showed my love a 30 oz
bottle with my oversized label...I'll admit it look pretty damn authentic!

Bigger...Better!

beginning of day #2....have the cap already on my Washington Pepsi
bottle...I ordered a replacement whilst the costs are still reasonable...boy caps
are getting pricey...don't mind tho...saved a bundle on my last two bottles...
had 1940s labels and caps from wartime with tax stamp and was only
charged $7 for the two bottles I needed...I'll splurge ($40) for an extra cap.

btw...anyone want to trade caps? I have a few of these
left over...nice paper labels for Coke, Pepsi, Kik. RC, Wynola
and Chero too...

Looking for a 6 cent KIK cap..that is all...unless you have a FP Hinds & Son bottle. :)

So today is day #3....remember what I said...

"Pepsi stopped shipping syrup when Wall Street crashed...is this why Pepsi disappeared? Hinds started bottling Pepsi again during WW2. He must have liked the product. Reminds me of the brothers from Raleigh that did the same thing."
Maybe this is just me reasoning but the following appears to be true...

Canada stopped using coloured glass in the mid 1920s for it's soda bottles.
The F. P. Hinds & Son bottle was only clear and generic in it's 30 oz variety by
1927. The bottle that I'm wishing for does not exist for 1927. Please correct me
if I'm wrong. All of their core brands were bottled in small, well marked clear bottles. Canadian bottles started putting the contents on their 1920s bottles.

and then when it became apparent that franchising was different in the 1920s,
I said...

"Looks strangely familiar... I guess I have to be educated first (Yikes!)"

I guess I was this morning..

I noticed in my search for this bottle, that a major Toronto bottler
was indeed marking their bottles in the 1920s, and became a Pepsi-Cola
bottler right after it was reintroduced. I am searching for evidence of their
earlier involvement right now. I think I'm on to something.

This 30 oz Chas Wilson, late 1920s generic bottle is on its way.

Wish #3? Day #3?
