Was invited to go digging in the foothills of the Ko'olau Mts. The place was quite hilly and was once home to 7 or so residences. The guys a couple years back brought in an excavator, dug a trench, and pulled 4000+ bottles of which about 300 were sodas. 1890s to 1940s I think they said. We're digging up leftovers but there's still killer pieces. First four photos are from "Unko Nate" (first four pictures are from him). Brah found some nice pieces. Japanese pottery, an intact Homer Laughlin coffee cup, an opium vial, all kine stuff.
The last two pictures are from me. I came late but still got a nice ACL Sake bottle (1970s), a large-size Dai Nippon beer, an applied top export beer, and an army mess tin spoon. The applied top is from R&Co. in Ohio I think. They went belly-up in 1904 if I remembered that right. The Dai Nippon is a different type than the ones I usually see. Normally, they have writing on the shoulder and the heel script in Japanese/English. This one's just got the Japanese around the heel, no shoulder script. Happy to have it and I got a new spot to dig too! ALOHA!
