1906 Anheuser-Busch Pre-Prohibition Beer Bottle, D. E. Smith & Company, Clifton Forge Virginia

Bottle Specifics:
The bottle is blown in a mold by mouth with a hand tooled finish crown top and is aqua blue. Embossed on the front body of the bottle and descending in 5 lines, line 1 on shoulder. capital 'A' entwined with Eagle and Shield (Anheuser-Busch emblem)/ line 2. 'ANHEUSER - BUSCH' in upward arch / line 3. BREW. ASSN. / line 4. D. E. SMITH & CO. / line 5. CLIFTON FORGE, VA. Embossed on the heel of the bottle (reverse) 6 - B (1906, Belleville Illinois plant) / 706 (possibly a mold number) NOTE: The Belleville Illinois plant was in operation 1905-1909, Embossed on the base in the large letter variation, A. B. Co. (American Bottle Company). The bottle holds 12 fluid ounces, weighs just under 480 grams (16.92 oz) empty, is 10 inches in height and about 2 3/4 inches in diameter at the base.

About the Base Mark: ABCo horizontal across the base (1905-1914)The ABCo mark was embossed on beer and some soda bottles across the center of the base. The logo was used in two main variations, large and small, although we have not been able to correlate the differences with specific plants or date codes. That is a really good AB beer despite it only being embossed on the shoulder. Thanks for sharing. Never seen one from there.
I do not believe this particular distributer was around for long as I have not been able to source any information on them.
