One of my early favourites in bottle collecting was a Canadian Dry bottle made with a flashed gold surface.
Its a cheap and easy process akin to carnival glass. You could decorate the bottle with a micro thin layer
of gold and it would endure most hostile environments included washing and sterilizing. Not sure why the
process was abandoned, but likely it just went out of favour when carnival glass did. Its origins date back
thousands of year and was used by Egyptians, Romans and Saxons to cheaply decorate blown glass. Ah...
the good ol' days.
