I was putting away the laundry and "found" three Harley bandanas
that I had completely forgotten about. I guess bottles were next.
Picked up my final two bottles today. I had been admiring my NOS
labels left over from the purge. What to do with two full sets of WW2
Pepsi labels; one from the west and one from the east? Both sets
were scrutinized carefully as per the fake labels post I recently read.
All good. What a shame to let them sit in Fibber McGee's drawer.
All my Canadian labels in the past were affixed to green period
bottles, and included in my grand sell off three years ago. The 1941
bottles were always overpriced so I hesitated to purchase them. Back
in the 1980s they wanted $20 bucks a piece. Outrageous. I used
American ones for the RWB style labels but there was always
something wrong with the look. US bottles are taller than Canadian
1941 bottles. Out the door they went.
Two pristine Canadian 1941 Pepsis came my way this morning. The
price was fair, and even with crazy FeeBay shipping, they were far
less than the $20 price tag. Reverse inflation?
Looking forward to displaying them, with my mylar sleeves to save
the bottles and the labels for "investment" purposes. Yikes they are
getting expensive!
In total, I will have met my maximum of 12 bottles. All done. (sort of)
I suppose I'll have to get the period correct Canadian caps to go with
them.
1) Nehi Cola Bottle w. cap
2) Chero Cola bottle w. cap and label
3) KIK ACL w. cap
4) Clear KIK "Life" bottle w. cap and label
5) Green "Quality" KIK bottle w. cap and labels
6) America Dry of Canada bottle w. cap
7) 1926 Pepsi bottle w. green cap
8) 1936 Pepsi clear script bottle w. yellow cap and labels
9) 1943 RWB Pepsi Pat. bottle w. RWB cap and RWB labels
10) 1954 RWB single dot Pepsi w. cap and labels
11) 1941 Canadian bottle w. labels (1st RWB) Western
12) 1941 Canadian bottle w. labels (2nd RWB) Eastern
That makes 6 USA bottles and 6 Canadian bottles...
