Hi all, I went to my favorite honey hole today and looked thru 25 boxes of yard sale junk. In box number 23 I found the attached 250-year-old 8-sided "stiegal-type" bottle. Picked over and bounced around in a box full of junk it is in perfect condition. Every 8-sided example I can find online is painted. This rare example is all etched. I paid $5 for it.

Interesting. Not knowing what to look for I probably would have passed that up.

An 18th century 'Schnappesflaschen' from the european 'Alpine' region, usually blown using the 'German Half Post' method.
As you say unusual being etched and not enamel painted.
