I was given a number of ink wells. I have not a clue what they are or what they might be worth. Thought I would put a picture of each on this forum. If interested, please let me know. Thanks, Ron

Unfortunately none look to be worth very much to me. Some of them are interesting and a bit unusual though. Here are my IDs on them, as much as possible:
1. This is not an inkwell. It's a modern bottle of the type that you might find in someone's spice rack and can be purchased in home furnishings stores.
2. Standard octagonal UK inkwell from around the turn of the 20th century. Probably the most common shape for this type of inkwell. Unlike US inks, UK inks rarely had any embossing but had a number of distinctive shapes.
3. Never seen one in this shape before. Looks like it was made on some sort of strange, early semi-automatic bottle machine. It's so unlike any inkwell I've seen before that I'm guessing it isn't from North America or the UK. Maybe Central or Eastern Europe?
4. Same as #2.
5. Unusually large version of #2. I've never seen ont this big before. It seems oddly sized for an ink bottle, a bit too big to be practical as an inkwell but a bit too small for a master ink. I guess there's a possibility it isn't actually an ink bottle at all, could be a medicine bottle or something which resembles inkwells by coincidence.
6. I believe these are called boat inks. One of the other common UK inkwell shapes, with two pen-rests.
7. A third common UK inkwell shape, not quite as common as the other two, same era as both though.
8. Not an inkwell, probably some sort of skin cream. Soaking the cap in lemon juice may reveal what exactly it contained.
9. Not totally sure what this is. I can't figure out why it has a ground lip since you don't usually see that on what otherwise appears to be a tooled lip. I guess for some reason it needed a totally flat lip but I can't figure out why that would be.
10. Typical turn of the 20th century generic inkwell from North America. Nice shade of sun-coloured amethyst but not much more to say about it.

#9 is probably a glue bottle. It would have had a rubber stopper with a short brush attached. Quite often they would grind the lip so the stopper would get a good seal so the glue wouldn’t dry out. American made.
