Unknown fruit jar 2. It was an amber jar. The embossing I can tell was " THE DA". Maybe it was a "THE DANDY"? I do not collect fruit jars but have come across some Lightning's and Globes before. The base of this jar was embossed "GILBERDS".

Great dig, you are lucky to have a son to dig with. I took my two daughters out once, they didn't seem too impressed but still had some fun anyway. ELECTRIC BREW ALL AROUND!!!!!!!!!

In 40 years of digging I only had found one other thing that might have money in it. That was a little cast iron bank that I still have some where. Unfortunately the bank was empty. When we dug this purse I noticed it had a hole in it. I made sure we sifted the dirt all around where it was. No coins were found sifting. Being the purse was so damaged and rusted I did not try to save it. We carefully took the purse apart. The closure came of easily.

The metal beads are heavy and greenish with some silver glint to in newly uncovered area. There was some kind of paper inside. I could not tell if it was just lining or if it could have been paper currency.

My son and I were excited and hopeful as we opened the purse, bit by bit. In the end, after a little clean up, we knew what was in the purse.

Ok...actually nothing was in the purse. This last picture was what we had been hoping for. Still, it was fun to hope. Maybe next time.
