I've been digging for as long as I've been able to walk, I've always loved the excitement of the find. I used to live out in the country and I loved to drive down old gravel roads looking for homesteads to search. Now I live in town, and I just recently discovered what has to be one of the greatest digging sights ever. I live within a mile of a river, and the flood land all along the banks has been turned into dirt bike trails, that are open to the public. I've started walking the trails for exercize and noticed a plethora of glass and metal fragments and a bunch of whole bottles and jars. Of course, most are modern litterbug junk, but with a small putty knife for digging and some patience, I've come across quite a few interesting finds. The most interesting being what looks like the bone of a very large animal! On four trips I've found about 3 dozen bottles. I'm in the process of cleaning and identifying all of them, as I get pics taken I will post more.
