Since my last name is pronounced Coke,I've been trying to find a straight sided Coke. It's only the second time this year I've been able to get in the river. Every time I'm thinking it will be low enough to go in,a major storm comes through. I can use a little help dating it. Just googling it I can't find a scripted one. It's a hard to find one, but not rare, surprised I couldn't find one.

I found one of those in Chicago's old Riverview Amusement Park garbage dump, underneath the Park, which was being built around 1903, after serving around 30+ years as one of Chicago's major dumping grounds. After closing the Park in 1967, excavations were started for a large shopping center that was built, again, on top of it from around 1972 onward. So, yep, I'd say 1903-1905-ish. Great find!!! But darn!!!! There's a gold mine in antique bottles underneath it all!!!

You could still tunnel into the banks. I checked it out and it doesn't look real safe to do. Maybe 20yrs ago I would do it. If I could find a couple of people to assess it with me, I certainly would give it another look. It's absolutely loaded with gems. I was thinking about tumbling it, but with the crack in the lip it probably wouldn't make it in one piece. A light coat of baby oil will have to work.

Absolutely awesome find Mailman!
The weather hasn't quite cooperated here this year. Water staying high most all of 2024.
Finally had a chance last week, and that was in knee deep blue grey muck.
