We did experiment making a chocolate angel food cake to use up some the the abundance of eggs my hens are blessing me with... it was pretty good. I sent it back to Lafayette with my son.
I have lost my taste for cake as I have aged...though I can still be tempted with really good ice cream, chocolate chip cookies, cinnamon rolls, apple pie, peach cobbler, creme brulle, etc, etc.
