Hey all, I got this green glass pocket flask with dose cap? Cork top. Looks like it might have some age to it. Judging by the iridescence and the fact that everything else i pull out of that spot is so clean. I could only find information about Mont Sainte Odile. Anybody ever seen one before? How old? Thanks again everyone.

You know I really like those. From the pix it looks like its one of those that wear the patina well? It might be prettier with it…. I like the bottles that are sick like that- you can’t fake it , and some never looked better!

This is the first colored flask I ever found with the cap and it's embossed. I love when they look old. Not a flakey iridescence that comes off. If only I could find information online or who made this product. Do monks make liqueur there is a monastery on the mountain. Thank you for the compliments.

Yes, apparently French monasteries did produce liqueurs to support themselves. Here's an example of a liqueur produced at the Abbey of Cenon, France. Production ceased in 1986. A full bottle today sells for $286.

These are very cool. Here is an example I have had since I was a kid.
That embossed heart and crosses look amazing. The label is so cool. Vichy is mineral/spring water. What a great flask! Thanks for posting pictures.

Thank you very much Harry for responding. No question they did now. Gorgeous example, wow! They were advertised as a cure?, that makes sense. Restorative properties of the spring and the fact that it was made by monks, I'm sold.

Vielle Cure translates to "the old priest." It's just a name, not a cure.

Vichy is a place name where there was (is) a spring ("Vichy Water") and a monastery. The label on the neat little flask says:

LIQUEUR prepared by the Celestine Brothers at the Monastery at Vichy.

That's a nice flask! I've never seen one with that type of tooled lip under one of those metal cup caps before. The age is tough to guess, since I'm not sure when they would have stopped making tooled lip bottles in France. Around here French imports seem to have stopped being common around the 1920s or so, when they were still making BIM bottles, so I don't know what their bottles looked like after that point.
