Found this curious looking lid and am wondering what it goes to. The top has a reverse s shape embossed into it and as you look through the glass the following is embossed in reverseso you can read it - PATD D, is underscored, JANY. 11th 1898 in a circle. Anyone know anything about this?
Sorry about the crappy pic but it's geeting dark.

Thanks Mark

Hi Mark, looks like 2625 or 2626 in redbook #10. Known as a Schies closure according to book. Book also states that wire clamp is scrace. Warren

Thanks jarhunter. I figured I could find it after leafing thru every page........

But then I need better glasses. Now all I need to do is find the jar that goes with it. I'm assuming its a pint lid from its size. The picture doesn't show it, but its turning a little sca, just enough to notice.

Thanks again, Mark
