I found a new digging location. This one seems to have been topped off in 1910. I only just began excavating today, here are some finds:
I saw one of these little German-imported jugs at a bottle show once, I really wanted it but I figured I would eventually find one, it took me 5 years but here it is at last:
The letter and number under the handle stand for the first letter of the name of the jug maker's location and their work number, this one seems to be "M. No. 68" I think.
These salt-glazed jugs contained natural mineral water sourced from wells in the Taunus Mountains, in the area of Selters, Hesse in Germany.
Still in the ash layer:
The other bottles include an 8-sided tooled-lip Rumford Chemical Works bottle. These were made in Rhode Island:
The small medical bottle is for "Caswell-Massey Co. LTD. of Broadway Cor. 31st New York":
