I am assuming this is a clorox bottle, it only has a C in a diamond on the bottom, it has seams on the sides up to the top of the neck. Looks like a cork for the top, not screw top. I tried looking for comps on ebay but did not find any that were not screw on top. What is an easy way to determine age. And also, this little green bottle, any info on it would be nice.
Thanks for any info, this site is great and some of y'all sure know how to make people laugh!!!!!!!

Back in 91 , I read and responded to an add from the Clorox company where they were offering a collectors guide to Clorox bottles . They sent me a nice illustration of the Clorox bottles as well as the history of the product .

It begins with recognizing that bottle collecting was becoming an increasing hobby , and that is why this brochure was made up for as far as I can tell .

In 1913 Clorox liquid bleach was offered in five gallon crockery jugs , since it was originally used exclusively by industrial concerns such as laundries, breweries , and municipal water companies . This product was delivered by horse and wagon to various customers in the San Francisco Bay area for use as a bleach, stain remover , dedodorant and disinfectant . I did not know that till I read it here. Does anyone have one of these crocks ? If so be so kind to post it on the forum for us to see . I have never seen one of these crocks . Then too , these jugs may have had a paper label , the brochure does not stipulate as to how the jug was marked .

Five years later in 1918 , Clorox Bleach was introduced into American households in 15 ounce amber glass "pint" bottles by the Electro-Alkaline Co. , forrunner to the Clorox Company . There is much more , but I do not think that too many people want to see a long version on Clorox Bottles . As for the brochure that was sent to me , it shows the bottles that were made and the dates as to when they were made . Not a history on historical flasks and so forth , but I thought it to be quite interesting .

I am sure that would hold true on some dumps cyberdigger , but I have seen dumps with these all over the tops of the dump , but digging on down into the dump I found it to be quite a bit older .
