Cleaning ink wells

When you find inkwells that are still colored in the inside from the ink, what is your opinion on cleaning the inside of the bottle? Leave it as is, showing the color or clean the whole bottle?

Has a lot of character just the way it is. Once cleaned, it'll be just another clear bottle. Denatured alcohol would be my first suggestion if you just have to clean it.
