We found this gin bottle a couple days ago at an abandoned gold mine. It's not quite clean yet, but I was hoping to get some information on it before I make a video for my YouTube channel soon. The bottle has no makers mark or date codes, probably because it was imported to Canada. The bottle still has the cap on it. My questions are how old do you think it is? How much is it worth? Would it have had a paper label also? If so what would one look like? Where do you think the bottle was made and by who? Anything else that you find interesting would be helpful too, Maybe about the company? The bottle has no other markings other then the name.

I'd say mid-20th century, very little value unfortunately (I'd consider it a dollar bin bottle). It definitely had a paper label which looked more or less like this:

They've been using the same heart-shaped label for over 100 years, and they're still using it today, although unfortunately it's on a nasty plastic bottle now. It's quite possible that this bottle was made in Canada, since the product was hugely popular here and I'm pretty sure was at least sometimes bottled locally. It was so popular in Quebec that if you look up the ponce de gin (the Quebecois equivalent of a hot toddy, a traditional alcoholic cold remedy), one of the first results mentions this specific brand: https://1ou2cocktails.com/cocktails/ponce-de-gin/

Thanks for the information. The mine was in operation between 1930 and 1939, so I'm going to guess it's from the 30s, probably mid to late 30s, but it could also be slightly newer.

When I have dug them (in New Brunswick) they have been in 1940's context. Honestly I've always left them behind.

Ok, thanks for your help. I guess it could possibly be 1940s, but I doubt it's any newer than that. There were other alcohol bottles around this one that said registered 1933, so that's a good indicator that it's a 30s bottle, but it's hare to say for sure without any markings.
