they are having a bottle show in New Orleans this month May 18 th i'm sure you could bring your bottle to the show and see what it would be worth assuming you live near by. if you go to the show you could learn so much and have fun

I'm 4.5 hours from Nola. Also, I listed it on ebay yesterday. Thanks though!

Supersizing photos and zooming in can also exaggerate the uneven look of the glass surface. I think its still a nice bottle even accounting for wear. As long as you have good photos and an accurate description on ebay you will get a fair price. And I'd put it on for 10 days, not 5 or 7, to give plenty of potential bidders and chance to see it. (Never mind, I just saw you already listed it) Good luck! I put it on my watch list too.

I Agree, very good price for a very good bottle. I've only seen a couple of that variant in my digging years and I'm from that city. I was watching it and was gonna bid, but alas, "lifes little problems" got in the way.
Mekiper certainly did the right thing and cleaned that dirt/oil/scum/something whatever ring in the neck and proved it wasn't repaired nor cracked ,,,,in the making (annealing) or in the aftermath (thrown into the privy),LoL. That brought the bidders on!!!
The soda's that I have dug and collected are only cleaned with soap, water and brushes of variable sizes n angles. I get every bitof mud,scum,dirt,oil,whatever out of them.
Personally, I think they look better with the "provenance", but some like them tumbled sparkly clean.

So did I miss where the bottle came from, did you find it in the s'port area, or pick it up at an estate sale? I'm less than 2 hrs from you and haven't stumbled across anything that old.......yet! I was curious if you dug it yourself, found it floating in the hole you dug, or found it floating in the Ole Red next to the riverboat casino?

None of the above. It came out of an old family home full of old stuff.
