So this was stuffed in a box, sitting in a storage area, along with other various collectibles, from a restaurant that was recently closed down. There were 2 actually, in different areas, one made it and one didn't, but both have cool old stuff mounted throughout the place! I asked one of the managers one morning what they were gonna do with that stuff, when she asked if I saw something I liked! This was the first thing I came to and I mentioned that it was pretty cool, when she said "I don't care. ..take it"! Now I'm certain she probably didn't have the authority but I certainly didn't refuse! Is this thing a replica or something similar, or is it genuine?? The only branding type marks on the hat are:

KANT-KRACK
US PAT-8047880

located on the underside of Bill!

Any assistance on a value would be greatly appreciated! There is what looked like some sort of netting, or liner missing, but otherwise seems in pretty good shape!

It's not original to the 1923 badge, but it is on the older side. The patent is from 1959, the hat looks 1960s or 70s to me.

Interesting! Thanks for taking time to clarify that part!! Didn't seem 1923 old to me either, guess someone had the chauffeur badge, then attached it to the oldest chauffeur hat they could find, just as a decoration piece?
