I got these two bottles at a estate sale this week.
Wondering if they are the real thing. The scroll is pretty light weight, and to me the ground lip and pontil look legit.
But I also know that these two bottles have been reproduced.
Sorry about the photos, I've never been good at photographing bottles.
I'll want to sell if real, I rarely keep bottles unless I've dug, a gift, or if I won at my old bottle club in Denver.
Any help would be appreciated.
A repro wouldn't usually have an applied lip, both bottles are convincing.

Can you post a close-up photo of the scroll flask showing the area with the two stars? Are both sides the same? I'm trying to look it up in the McKearin / Wilson bottle book to determine which mold it is.

Again, I can't seem to take decent photos, should have brought it outside.
But here ya go.
On one side there is a seam just above the top left side spiral that travels through the middle of the top spiral on the right.
The seam also goes almost to the bottom right side spiral.
Not a crack, but a seam.
On the other side there is a seam starting on the middle shoulder, left side
Roughly a 1/2" from the left side where the neck starts.
Hope that makes sense.
Would love to know the varient as well.

I can't make out how many points are on the upper star. There are seven points on the lower star.

Honestly I can't tell either, I've stared at it through sunlight, flashlight, and normal eyeballig.
It looks like 8 on one side, bottom, and 8, maybe 7 on the other side.

I never even noticed the top stars, real hard to see and count, but it looks like 8.
It does look like tere are more than the bottom stars.

I can't figure out which mold was used. The stars are too indistinct. I do like the scroll flask. I would like to make an offer if you are interested in selling it.
