I found this jar while walking around an old dump site in Sarnia, ON. I believe it’s from the Hamilton location of the Dominion Glass Company. I am trying to find out what it could’ve been used to store. It has a rose emblem on the bottom that I have not been able to find anything about. It’s also sort of an egg or oval shape. Definitely different than the standard preserving jars. Any ideas?

Can't say much that'll help but I noticed the "window" shape to the left of the glass manufacturer's mark. I'm coming from a Japanese perspective so I read it immediately as "田" (Ta) which means "field" in Japanese. It appears in names like "Tanaka". Probably has nothing to do with Japan but I just thought that was neat.

I'd agree with the 50s-60s date range. Might've been mayo or something. Check glassbottlemarks.com for more info about Dominion Glass.

The window shape is actually the month code. It represents November/December. The number to the right is the year code, it's one digit so that's why it could be 1955 or 1965. What you said is interesting though.
