Another bottle out of a "find" and I think this one comes from the early/mid 1800's based on what I read but could use some expert help.
It has, what (I think) is called an open pintol which has "ragged" edges to it. The base of the lip is uneven but not jagged or uneven so I think this is a result on ho

w it was made (primitively). Also the main body is divided into 4 "rolls" so it's not smooth. Cool old bottle!

I'd say it's some sort of oil bottle. Could be cod liver, castor, olive oil or maybe even something like Florida Water. It looks pontiled but I'm unsure since I rarely ever come across them over here in the Islands. My guess is 1850s or earlier.

First you have to caress it, take it out to a nice dinner... kidding!

I'd agree that this is an open pontil, but it's anyone's guess as to what it held. I'm seeing either an oil (like Hezezilla mentioned) or something like a sauce.

Definitely that form was used for Florida Water, but agreed also sause etc would be in play. And definitely open pontil putting it somewhere roughly before 1870.
