I finally got a decent black light and tested my bottles. This is what I found.

Very cool!!!! I recently got into Uranium glass…now I carry a UV flashlight with me everywhere. Sadly…none of my collection glows. :(

I read up on using uv lights because I thought none of mine glowed. Then I checked them at night and was surprised at how many glow. I read that 365nm is the best wavelength to use. I ordered one of them and it will be here Monday. I have a 395nm and can’t tell if they glow in the daylight. Also, a trick I figured out is if you flip the bottle over so you’re looking at the base, then shine the light down the side of the bottle away from you, the outside of the base will glow extremely bright. Bottles will glow that you didn’t know would. The pictures I posted that show the base of the bottle are that way.

So I got my black light with 365 nm wavelength. It makes a huge difference. Here are pictures in inside my house in the daylight of my using a 395 UV light (where you see no glow) and a 365UV light (where you easily see the glow). Outside, where it’s bright, it still doesn’t make the glass glow. Definitely make sure you have a 365 light.
