yup..it was a tad smaller but it was hard to tell in the photo. These sleeves are about 90
years old so no effort was made in aging them. They were old. NOS...I'll steam it off and
keep it as a record of how hard it is to authenticate on line purchases, especially labels.
In the end, unbeknownst to the vendor, the bottle was actually quite rare and well worth
the price I paid. I am now looking for NOS 1951 labels to go with it. Anyone got some?

To balance things out, I got a cap in the mail that even my local experts are convinced
of its origin as the elusive 1933 cap. The foil residue is that obvious, and its pretty hard to
fake 90 years of oxidization.

Deterioration such as wear & tear also discoloration can be reproduced also.
Yeah definitely, I'm referring to a specific type of deterioration which I've never seen accurately reproduced where the paper itself starts to become thin and brittle. Staining and tears definitely aren't reliable indicators of being genuine, and sometimes can be a dead giveaway that the label is fake if they're done poorly.
